This piece started with a picture on the cover of a garden magazine. I was inspired by the beautiful yellow and pink roses. They stood out to me as such an unusual combination of color. I knew I had to paint them! Translating their beauty was a tranquil experience I will not soon forget. Two swallowtail butterflies are resting on the aptly named Love and Peace roses. For a moment they pause in balance and grace.
